Free Film Screening in Woodstock Thursday Evening
What’s the quickest way to take positive steps to create a better environment? The answer is closer than you think.
The future of our world and its inhabitants brightens as we deepen our awareness and connection to our inner selves. Taking the time to connect with your heart’s wisdom empowers citizens of every age to right action.
Want to Make a Real Difference for a Better Environment? Start with Your Heart
When you connect with your inner self, you are better able to tap your deep wisdom. Taking time for simple actions such as self-reflection and time in nature has been shown to connect us more quickly and more powerfully to our innate wisdom. This, in turn, leads to more creative solutions and practical steps that improve the environment beginning in our own community.
This is the path that has guided and continues to guide indigenous peoples to care for the earth, which many cultures have long associated with the mother. This perspective is now shared by growing numbers of people who are beginning to realize that their relationship with themselves is reflected in their relationships in the outer world.

How connected you feel to you directly impacts how you view the world around you! Together, we can create a better environment.

Meeting Yourself Where You Are
The complex and dynamic environmental challenges we are facing today require us to meet ourselves where we are. We must come to accept ourselves, flaws and all, and cultivate self-compassion. As our capacity for self-compassion expands, so too does our ability to have a positive impact on the world around us, including nature.
We can no longer bury our heads in the sand or resort to denial. We can no longer perpetuate the “other-ness” mindset or see ourselves as separate from others and the natural world.
——–
Decisive, discerning action is an imperative. There is no other way.

The way forward begins with self-acceptance. We must accept where we are from a larger environmental perspective. We must see, understand, and acknowledge our own actions which have inflicted damage on our local and global environment. By meeting ourselves where we are, we can see our way forward to a better world for ourselves and future generations.

Learning to love the natural world as an extension of ourselves is the only sustainable way to nurture and regenerate the natural world.
