How can we respond with wholeness and from our True Center in the midst of challenge and change?
•
It is mid-November, the time of year when we traditionally begin to look forward to celebrating the holiday season beginning with Thanksgiving later this month, Christmas in December, and followed by the New Year celebrations in January. As the holiday season draws closer, we find ourselves facing an uncertain and challenging future.
In looking at our national and world situation right now, there seems to be little cause for celebration. Fear, divisiveness, conflicts, and loss are widespread and pervasive. In our hearts, though, we long for peace and goodwill across the world; and many are wondering what they can do to help ease the widespread suffering that we witness and experience.
The magnitude of today’s challenges calls for monumental and for creative responses and solutions from around the globe. The enormity of the need may seem far beyond our individual ability to make a difference, yet we are all needed in this unprecedented time.
No action is too small or insignificant.
If you are asking how you can help, the answer is to do what you can right where you are. Small, simple actions can make a world of difference when your motivations are clear and arise from your True Center—that deepest space within each of us where we feel most connected and from which loving action arises.
True service is motivated by our loving compassion and our connection with wholeness.
It arises from the realization that we are all connected in one common humanity in an interconnected world and that any action, no matter how small, ripples outward.
Our experience of wholeness inspires our love, generosity, compassion, and the heartfelt desire to help others.
.
Cultivating Compassion in a Connected World
Because we are integrally connected as one, even our small actions can have significant impact. The affects of our actions naturally ripple outward in expanding circles. Living in an interconnected world offers many opportunities for cultivating compassion.
We are truly all in this together. When one person in the world suffers, essentially we all suffer. In fact, the word “compassion” means suffering together. We cultivate compassion as we come to a deeper understanding of our connection and wholeness.

Helping Others Begins Within
Every person is a unique and magnificent individual who is integral to and who contributes to the whole of life. We each hold the imprint for the full flowering of our potential. We are imbued with the creative life energy that unfolds us to our full potential.
What is ours to give in service to the world is the full expression of all that we really are and all that we are becoming.
In this way we honor our deepest yearnings to help the world. Yours is a unique voice in the great symphonic harmony of life. You naturally serve when you discover how to move and act in alignment with who you really are. It is then that you have reclaimed your voice of truth, and that is how you impact the world in a powerful way.
.
You Make A World of Difference
No life is less valuable or precious than another. You are intrinsically valuable and precious simply because you are of the whole. The world needs our gifts of our unique expression now more than ever. We are called to express ourselves authentically, ethically, and compassionately, so that we can co-create a better future for all to enjoy. Our unique gifts are essential to the well-being of the whole.
To withhold our gifts of service to the world, whether through our inaction and complacency or because the we don’t know where to begin, is to deny the world its fullest expression, for we each are meant to be valuable contributors to the whole. When you view your life as a gift that you offer to the world in service to the greater good, your experience of life takes on a much deeper level of meaning and purpose.
You can do your part by your authentic and loving presence in the world. Begin in your own community: engage in your community, explore ways to volunteer, help your neighbor in need, smile often! Even the smallest of conscious and heartfelt actions contributes to the greater good and enriches your life with meaning and purpose.
As we reach out to help others in need, we are wholly co-creating a more peaceful, compassionate, thriving world.

What Wholeness Asks of You
What is wholeness asking of you? For each of us wholeness is asking us to see and be from an ever-expanding big picture perspective. We must realize that each action we take is not an isolated incident.
Every action we take impacts the world around us in some way. Living from this wholeness calls us to be more accountable and responsible for the actions we take. It calls us to be more loving and compassionate so that our actions are taken for and contribute to the greater good.
Wholeness is asking each of us to live life from a “we” perspective, knowing that as we move through life every action we each take impacts the whole. Wholeness is asking that we express ourselves to our fullest potential. It is asking that you shine your inner light in such a way that others may see their way more clearly.
Wholeness is asking us to live as authentically as possible.
.
Authenticity and Vulnerability
No one expects you to be perfect all the time. We are all far from perfect. You are all the aspects and facets of who you are, both light and darkness, and you are always in a state of unfolding and becoming.
Wholeness asks that we choose to be vulnerable, knowing that we grow stronger and wiser through painful experiences as well as joyful experiences. You come to deeper self-awareness and self-acceptance by being present to all that happens within you, through you, and around you.
.
- If you feel unsure about what wholeness is asking of you in these challenging time, spend some time in quiet reflection, meditation or contemplation. It is in these moments of deepest inner connection, that your inner wisdom can reveal itself to you. It requires deep listening.
- Reflect on who you are and who you are becoming. Treat yourself with kindness and tenderness. Trust yourself, remembering that it is you who ultimately holds the answers to your inquiries.
- Listen to your inner voice of truth. Remind yourself that you are whole already. How do you choose to express your wholeness in the world? How can you serve the greater good in our world?
.
It takes each of us acting from the truth of who we really are to co-create a better world for all. It requires a commitment to the vision of a more just and equitable world for all.
The basis of a more peaceful and just world is the ability to understand and accept differences and to find common ground. This acceptance leads to quicker resolution of conflicts in ways that benefit the whole.
.
Peace, love, and much gratitude to you all this holiday season from True Center!!
